Nevada County is proud to announce that District 1 Supervisor Heidi Hall has taken on an even greater role in representing Nevada County’s interests before the National Association of Counties (NACo), an organization that serves to strengthen America’s counties by advocating for their priorities in federal policymaking. In early August 2022, Supervisor Hall was appointed to three important committees for rural counties:
- Resilient Counties Advisory Board – Vice Chair
- Rural Action Caucus (RAC) – Member
- Public Lands Steering Committee (Payments Subcommittee) – Subcommittee Vice Chair
Supervisor Hall has represented Nevada County within NACo since 2020 and has served on the Public Lands Steering Committee since 2021. She has advocated for additional resources, such as budget and staffing, for federal land managers here in Nevada County and will continue to do so. She also serves as the County’s representative to the Western Interstate Region (WIR), a NACo-affiliated group that focuses on the specific needs of western rural counties, including public land issues, rural economic development, and agriculture, amongst other topics.
