The Tahoe Truckee Homeless Action Coalition (TTHAC), formerly known as the Tahoe Truckee Homeless Advisory Committee, is relaunching with renewed energy and focus. The Coalition, which includes Nevada County, invites community members to join the conversation and help implement the priorities outlined in the newly accepted Tahoe Truckee Regional Homeless Action Plan.
Top priorities from the plan include reestablishing crisis response services (such as a navigation center and interim beds), increasing the supply of stable, service-enriched housing, expanding community outreach, and launching targeted fundraising efforts.
The TTHAC Kick-Off Meeting will be held Wednesday, August 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Town of Truckee Council Chambers (upstairs). All are welcome.
This event marks a new chapter in a collaborative, regional effort to reduce and ultimately end homelessness in the Truckee-Tahoe area. The Action Plan, finalized in spring 2025, was shaped by over 18 months of data analysis, community engagement, and insights from people with lived experience.
With the plan in hand and strong community input over the past six months, TTHAC is now moving into implementation—taking action to strengthen and expand local homelessness response systems.
The meeting will include:
- Updates on the Coalition’s relaunch
- Information and consideration of a pilot Navigation Center concept, a model that offers interim beds and stabilizing support services to individuals experiencing homelessness
- A public conversation about the next steps and priorities for expanded services

This relaunch of the Tahoe Truckee Homeless Action Coalition is about moving from planning to doing—and we need to have the community’s voice at the table,” said Jan Zabriskie, Town of Truckee Mayor and one of the Co-Chairs of the Tahoe Truckee Homeless Action Coalition.
