Nevada County Down Payment Assistance Program Coming Soon!
Nevada County's Down Payment Assistance Program will provide funds to support moderate income households with home ownership opportunities.
Eligibility
- Currently a resident of Nevada County
- Meet the income and program requirements in the Program Guidelines
- Obtain a pre-approval letter from a qualified lender
Buying a Home with Nevada County's Down Payment Assistance Program
- Attend a Homebuyer Education/Program Orientation: Interested applicants must attend a Homebuyer Education/Program Orientation before applying to the program. Links to the Homebuyer Education/Program Orientation will be found on this webpage once available. After completing the Homebuyer Education/Program Orientation, applicants will receive an application packet with everything needed to complete the application to the program.
- Submit a Pre-Approval Application: Interested applicants will submit a pre-approval application with all supporting documentation, including a pre-approval letter from a qualified lender. Applications submitted without a pre-approval letter from a qualified lender will not be considered.
- Attend a Pre-Funding Phone Appointment: All eligible applicants will be invited to attend a Pre-Funding Phone Appointment to understand the program process and to ask any questions. After completion of this step, eligible applicants will receive program pre-approval valid for six months and can begin shopping for a home. *Please note that this is not a guarantee of funding. Funding will be reserved after entering into a contract on a home. Please contact the County before entering into a contract to ensure funds are still available.
- Submit a Final Application: Home buyers will submit a Final Application with all supporting documentation to the program after entering into a Residential Sales Agreement. After approval, Down Payment Assistance funds will be committed to the purchase.

Lenders
Nevada County is currently working to develop a list of lenders who have attended a Lender Workshop, approved the program documents, affirmed their understanding of the program, and are willing to lend with this program. A list of lenders will be provided on this webpage once available. Please be aware that this is not an endorsement or recommendation for any of these professionals by Nevada County. Nevada County encourages each buyer to research, interview, and select a lending professional that meets all of their needs.
