All County buildings will be closed in observance of the holiday on Friday, July 4. This will not impact public safety and law enforcement operations. Nevada County Connects transit will not be operating on July 4.
Here are some public safety reminders to help you have a safe holiday:
- All fireworks are illegal to possess and/or use in Nevada County.
- Boat sober and wear a life jacket.
- Drownings remain a top concern. In 2024, three people drowned over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Whether at a river, lake or pool, the potential for drowning, no matter the condition, can happen to anyone at any time in any depth of water. Children are especially vulnerable. Never swim alone.
