Nevada County has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget for the 10th straight year.
“This award reflects our county’s ongoing commitment to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and excellence in financial planning,” said Erin Mettler, the County’s chief fiscal officer and deputy county executive officer. “It demonstrates the hard work of our finance team and their dedication to creating a budget that not only meets high professional standards but also serves as a clear and accessible financial roadmap for our community.”
The Government Finance Officers Association launched its awards program in 1984. The program recognizes governments that meet nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation, including such factors as policy documentation, financial planning, operational guidance and public communication.
