Established in 1984, National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that promotes community partnership with law enforcement to foster a positive relationship that helps make neighborhoods a safer and more enjoyable places to live. It is traditionally held annually on the first Tuesday in August and celebrated across the nation with block parties, festivals, parades, cook-outs, and various other community focused events. Here in Nevada County, local law enforcement is teaming up for two National Night Out community events, one in Grass Valley and another in Truckee, on August 1, 2023:
Grass Valley
When: Tuesday, August 1, 2023, 6:00-7:30 pm
Where: Memorial Park, 415 Central Avenue, Grass Valley
Details: The event includes a Kids Color Fun Run, live music, free food, games, public safety exhibits, and more!
Cost: The event is free for all ages
Truckee
When: Tuesday, August 1, 2023, 5:00-7:30 pm
Where: Regional Park, 10500 Brockway Road, Truckee
Cost: The event is free for all ages
Join your neighbors, the Nevada County Sheriff Office, and our law enforcement partners from Probation, Grass Valley Police Department, Nevada City Police Department, Truckee Police Department, and California Highway Patrol, along with other public safety and community-based organizations, at these fun-filled events!
