Nevada County Board of Supervisors Chair Heidi Hall (District 1) and Supervisor Hardy Bullock (District 5) have been appointed to leadership positions in the National Association of Counties by NACo President J.D. Clark.
Hall was reappointed chair of the Homeland Security Subcommittee focusing on emergency preparedness. The subcommittee is part of the Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee. She was also appointed vice chair of the Rural Action Caucus and member of the Resilient Counties Innovation Council, which identifies and promotes innovative solutions that strengthen local resilience to natural disasters, economic disruptions and other community challenges.
“I’m honored to continue serving in leadership roles at NACo,” said Hall. “Serving on these committees lets me advocate for the kinds of real-world challenges we face in rural counties – whether it’s preparing for wildfires, improving emergency responses or making our communities more resilient.”
Supervisor Hardy Bullock is serving in a NACo leadership role for the first time this year. He was appointed vice chair of the Outdoor Recreation Subcommittee under the Public Lands Steering Committee. The subcommittee helps counties support, manage and benefit from outdoor recreation on public lands. He was also appointed a member of the Rural Action Caucus and Resilient Counties Innovation Council.
“Outdoor recreation is a big part of life in Nevada County, so I’m excited to help influence national policies that support access to public lands,” Bullock said. “I’m honored to work with other leaders who understand the challenges and strengths of rural communities like ours.”
