On the one-year anniversary of Nevada County’s Lobo and McCourtney Fires, Nevada County’s Office of Emergency Services urges residents to be fire safe this weekend. Although we’ve received some rain throughout the County earlier this week, National Weather Service is predicting gusty and windy weather that will dry out the ground quickly and contribute to possible high fire danger this weekend.

Help Prevent Fires
Residents can also help prevent fires. Be fire safe by avoiding outdoor activities that can cause a spark near dry vegetation such as yard work with lawnmowers or power equipment that creates sparks, target shooting, or campfires. Make sure to follow local fire restrictions.
