The Mental Health Services Act, also known as Prop 63, is funded by a 1% tax on personal income over $1 million per year, and is designed to expand and transform California’s county mental health systems. The Mental Health Services Act revenue is allocated to California counties to expand services for individuals with mental health disorders and those at-risk of developing a mental health disorder.
Counties are required to develop Three-Year MHSA Program and Expenditure plans, in collaboration with stakeholders, to determine priorities and direction for MHSA funding allocations and programs over the following three fiscal years. The plan and its priorities are based on the needs identified by the department and the community through the mental health needs assessment and planning process.
The Nevada County Behavioral Health Department is inviting all stakeholders to review and comment on Nevada County's MHSA Three Year Plan for FY 2023/24 through FY 2025/26 and Annual Progress Report for FY 21/22. The Public Comment Period will last for a period of 30 days from April 5, 2023 to May 5, 2023.
To view the Three Year Plan for FY 2023/24 through FY 2025/26 and Annual Progress Report for FY 21/22, go to www.mynevadacounty.com/mhsa.
Public comments may be submitted in writing by 5PM on May 4th, 2023. Public comments may be submitted in writing via email or via US mail to:
