Application
Nevada County residents interested in applying for a position on a Board of Supervisor’s Committee or Commission may apply online.
A paper application can also be requested by calling the Clerk of the Board at 530-265-1480 or visiting the Board of Supervisor's Office in the Eric Rood Administrative Center.
Requirements
All applicants must be residents of Nevada County.
Newly appointed members will be required to sign an oath of office prior to serving.
Members of the public serving on committees and commissions must complete an Ethics Training as required by AB 1234 every two years. The California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) offers an online training program that allows local officials to satisfy the requirements of AB 1234 on a cost-free basis. To learn more and access the FPPC’s training opportunities, please visit their website at FPPC.CA.GOV.
Additionally, the County of Nevada offers ethics training annually. For more information on how to enroll in the next training, please call the Clerk of the Board at 530-265-1480.
Please see below a recording of the Ethics and Brown Act Training Video and PowerPoint provided by County Counsel Kit Elliot and David Ruderman of Colantuono, Highsmith & Whatley, PC on July 10, 2020. Financial Disclosure Statement
Per the Countywide Conflict of Interest Code, some Committee and Commission appointments also require members to file a Financial Disclosure Statement with the County. Nevada County has been approved by the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) for 700 filing, and Committee/Commission members now have the ability to file the Form 700 through our online eDisclosure system. Filers can complete, sign and submit their forms online using personal individual accounts which save your information from year to year, making subsequent filings more convenient.
