June 7, 2016 Primary Election Information

General Information

The next scheduled election in Nevada County is the June 7, 2016, Presidential Primary Election. In order to be eligible to vote for this election, you must be registered to vote by May 23, 2016. You can register to vote online or contact our office for a voter registration card.

No Party Preference Voters

If you are a no party preference voter (i.e. "non partisan" or "decline to state" voter), you have three options for the June 7, 2016, Election:
  • ​Vote a nonpartisan ballot that does not include candidates for President.
  • Vote for an American Independent, Democratic or Libertarian Presidential candidate. You will be able to choose one of these three ballots via mail if you are a vote-by-mail voter or at the polling place if you vote on Election Day.
  • To vote for a Green, Peace & Freedom or Republican Presidential candidate, you must re-register to vote by May 23, 2016. Make sure to choose the party whose candidate you want to vote for.
