Listen to the Experts: Know Your Zone and Write it DownAuthorities will use Zone Names in emergency alerts, media releases, and social media to notify residents which areas are under an evacuation warning or order. It does not replace CodeRED or Nixle but supplements them. Not every incident will require the use of Zonehaven, just as every incident does not call for an evacuation. In the event of an evacuation incident, knowing your zone could save time when minutes count.

District III Supervisor Dan Miller: Memorial DayI am proud to be an American and have the opportunity to pay tribute to those American men and women who gave their lives so that we, today, can enjoy the freedom, the liberty and the riches of our great nation.
In 1984, President Reagan spoke these words on Memorial Day. “Today, we honor the dead of our wars. We recall their valor and their sacrifices. We remember they gave their lives so that others might live.” Throughout our history, Americans have always responded to the call to arms when our nation has been threatened. We showed it during the revolution, when outnumbered and with no battle experience, we won our independence and became a nation. The war of 1812, the Spanish American war, WWI & WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and now Iraq and Afghanistan. The American soldier has always stood in the gap to prevent tyranny and evil nations from taking away the life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that we are guaranteed by our constitution.

A Bridgeport Bridge Renovation Milestone On Monday May 24th, the historical covered wood Bridge renovation project at Bridgeport in the South Yuba River State Park hit a major milestone. The Bridge was lowered from the supporting structure that has held it suspended over the south fork of the Yuba River for the past 20 months onto its own foundation.
A major portion of the structural work has been completed and it is now time for the true test! Soon the major arch support, that is such a distinguishing aspect of the Bridge, will be installed along with the flooring and roof structure. Also, the temporary steel bridge support structure will soon be removed. Once the shake roof and siding are installed, we will all be able to see the Bridge very much like it was when first completed by David Wood back in 1862. This historical treasure, the longest single span wood covered Bridge in the world, will soon reopen to the public.
