Transferstation

Important Notice for Those Nevada County Residents who Utilize the McCourtney Road Transfer Station

Since Nevada County announced the state mandate to “shelter-in-place” on March 24th. The McCourtney Road Transfer Station has seen a high influx of individuals, averaging upwards of 500 vehicles per day. Waste Management and Nevada County want to remind the community that disposing of their trash created by project work is not considered essential service.

Since the increase of traffic at the transfer station puts the public as well as the Waste Management staff at risk, Waste Management would like to prioritize the drop-off services as only for those who are not signed up for curb-side pick-up and must self-haul their household waste.
