Peer Employment Training

On January 16, 2015 nineteen individuals graduated from Peer Employment Training held in Nevada County and facilitated by Recovery Opportunity Center in partnership with Nevada County Behavioral Health. Peer Employment Training is a two-week interactive training that focuses on developing peer support skills for use in the workplace, exploration and development of personal recovery, and supporting individuals in recognizing their strengths, responsibilities and accountability as certified peers.

The students of this class consisted of Nevada County residents who are either currently working or volunteering as peer support staff in local agencies such as Nevada County Behavioral Health, SPIRIT Peer Empowerment Center, Freed Center and others as well as individuals who had made the decision to take the next step in their recovery by returning to the workforce in either a volunteer or employment role.

Advanced Peer Practices Training was held in December 2015 and sixteen individuals attended.
