On June 19, 2019, Governor Newsom announced that a special election will be held for the California State Assembly District 1 seat that was vacated by Brian Dahle. Nevada County and the nine other counties within Assembly District 1 are participating in this election.
With no candidate receiving 50% of the vote plus 1 during the Aug 27th election a special general runoff election will be held on November 5, 2019.
All registered Nevada County voters will receive a ballot in the mail for the Assembly District 1 Special General Election .
