Parks & Recreation Facility Fee Nexus Study - "AB1600 Fees and Quimby Fees"
Nevada County has partnered with Economic Planning Systems, Inc. (EPS) to prepare an updated nexus study to evaluate recreation development fee provisions, including park and recreation facility and levels of services, expansion of applicable land uses subject to the fee program, establishment of administration charges and inclusion of annual fee escalation procedures. Theses mitigation fees are commonly referred to as AB1600 Mitigation Fees and Quimby Fees. Specifically, the Recreation Fee Nexus Study is for the unincorporated Western County that establishes the legally required nexus (or reasonable relationship) between projected new residential development and park and recreation facilities that will be required to serve the new development. The proposed draft study reflects the maximum justified fee that can be charged to new residential single and multi-family dwelling development based on conservative facility cost estimates and Levels of Services standards identified throughout Western Nevada County.
